“Every choice feeds every choice that comes after, whether we want those choices or no.”
🌟 I found myself comparing this to book 1 unintentionally and there were both improvements and things that were better in book 1.

🌟 While I felt that book 1 was faster than it should have been, this is quite fast but the right kind of pacing for a short story. I think the pacing was definitely better in this book because it delivered a whole story in less than 200 pages without cutting or adding too much.

🌟 I mentioned in my review of book 1 that the writing style was jumping between brilliant and odd. This was also better from this aspect, the writing was more consistent and “smoother”. Although book 1 had better quotes but this didn’t have the writing that irked me in book 1 so I am considering it an improvement too.

🌟 This also had one of the best introductions and early chapters among the books that I have read this year. I wish it continued as it started but it just didn’t.
Book 1 introduction was kind of confusing because we are thrown into the story but then you slowly start to understand and like it, it was the opposite here, I liked  the intro but then it became a bit boring and expected.

🌟 There were more characters in book 1 and this is kind of a prequel. I related more to characters in book 1 and the twins here were just average. Also book 1 took a turn for the darker side suddenly and it was shocking. I didn’t feel the same here, it was not dark…

🌟 Book 3 is supposed to be a continuation which I believe will be better.
So this was mostly better than book 1 but the plot in book 1 was more interesting and I think we’re getting more in book 3. Final rating is 3.75 stars.
