“Forget a man’s name and he’ll forgive you. Remember it, and he’ll defend you forever.”
🌟 This time I followed a different strategy while I read this book, I thought that part of the problem and my confusion in the last book was due to me going on full speed while reading it. I know that I can read fast and I do have a good comprehension with contemporaries and light books but in Fantasy novels, I have to slow down a bit.
🌟 I read this in 5 days, which is a long time for 1 book in my standards, but I wanted to enjoy and not just finish a book. I was right to a certain extent, I did understand more, I did enjoy it more but I was still confused in some scenes.
🌟 I said that Darrow, the MC was kind of arrogant and stupid, this book showed a huge development to his character and I was rooting for him many times during this book. If we are talking about characters then Sevro has always been my favorite and this book only proves this more. And he gave one of the sunniest most empowering speeches I have ever read in a novel. I also love Ragnar and Mustang. I like Jackal and Cassius, it seems I am liking every character all of a sudden. My curse is still there and some of my favorite characters had to die. Thanks Pierce 😀
🌟 The Plot twists and back stories in this book were just the best! There was something that happened and made me really angry and I was losing interest in the book, Thank God I powered through the last 50 pages because this has one of the best trilogies endings ever. If the whole book was written in this way, I would have certainly gave it a 5/5 stars but you know critical Hamad who hardly gives 5 stars!
🌟 I found myself enjoying the writing style even more, there were many good quotes and the author is funny as hell. I really appreciate the continuous improvement
“What is pride without honor? What is honor without truth? Honor is not what you say. It is not what you read.” Romulus thumps his chest. “Honor is what you do.”
🌟 So, a series that keeps getting better, one of the best series endings ever. Good characters and plot twists! If you haven’t read this series yet, then there is nothing to stop you from doing so. My final Rating is 4 stars. I am not going to prescribe it this time because if you have read the last book then you probably will read this.
🌟 So my reading speed is 350-400 WPM according to the site I use and the book I am reading with an average comprehension of about ~80%.
Do you know what is you reading speed and comprehension percentage? Do you think it affects how we read books? Do you want to pick this series or you already did?
Happy reading everyone Xx
I read the first two books in this series when they came out, but I haven’t read this one yet. I’m glad you liked it! I’ll have to try to read it soon. 🙂
