โ€œKell would say it was impossible. What a useless word, in a world with magic.โ€
.
๐ŸŒŸ I respect Schwab’s ability to excel in all components of the stories in her books. This Savage Song had a great plot, Vicious was all about the characters, City of Ghosts is an all round book for younger readers and this series has amazing world-building.
.

๐ŸŒŸ After enjoying the first book and everyone hyping this book for me and saying it gets better I got so excited! I thought that I was going to read my next 5 stars book but I just didn’t! Victoria is one of my favorite authors but something was missing in this book and I know exactly what it was!

๐ŸŒŸ To be honest, nothing was missing and that is the problem. It was overstuffed with too much details and the thing I wanted to be better was the plot. The plot was slow and not much was happening till part 4 and then I thought it would get better now, it was slightly better but once again I wanted more and that didn’t happen till the last 150 Pages. I felt that this book could have been easily 250 pages instead of 500!!
.
๐ŸŒŸ I still think the world building is cool and I enjoy it and how it expands. The characters are also very unique and memorable. I like Kell, Lila and most importantly Holland whose chapters were the best!
.
๐ŸŒŸ Summary: I think the book was good but I expected more action and a faster pacing! It still has great characters and amazing world-building but the plot was lacking. I hope the last book redeems this one and is better. I am giving this one 3.5 out of 5 stars.

  1. Yeah, these aren’t fast-paced books. I couldn’t telly you how the 3rd one compares in that aspect, but the character stuff is A++
