β€œWithout the threat of suffering, we can’t experience true joy.”

🌟 Another book of the books that used to haunt me is now removed from this list! I have been recommended this many times, I have seen shining reviews, I know the author is well known and has many books and I think I understand why at last!

🌟 Scythe is one of those books that are unique, not a carbon copy of other books in the market! I think much time has been put into the writing and execution of the book, from the cover to the last page, it was very enjoyable.

🌟 The writing is really smooth, I found myself flying through this, I just noticed that the book has 435 pages and I thought no way! It felt like 200 pages, 250 at most. It was captivating and it was funny and it was light, just what heart wants! The chapter names are so smart (I am only 96) LOL! And the diary entries were a good idea to give us insight into the world from different characters POVs.

🌟 I am going to talk about the world building before the characters this time and it is because they are related somehow and let me explain: First, the world building was superb, whether you are a reader or a writer, I think you will be captivated by the world, an important thing to think about while building the world is asking and what will happen if and that’s what the author did! Many of the details and hypothetical questions were answered and judging from book 2 title, there will be much more to explore yet! The idea is that people do not naturally die in this world and Reapers are given the job to Glean them. That’s over-simplifying things but it is the main idea!

🌟 The characters were amazing too because I know it in my bones that if a world like this existed those same traits will prevail in the society, those with a conscious and those cold blooded murderers who will do it for fun! There will be people wanting power, people who would want to fade into the background and people who would pretend not to care! And guess what? All of that you can find in this book!

🌟 Summary: The book was obviously a book that took its time in baking just to deliver a very good book! I would emphasize how good the world building was again and how everything was connected to that strong base! I see what all of this hype is about, I already bought book 2 and can’t wait to read the rest of the series and maybe the other books by this author!
