TTT: Books with sensory reading memories

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018! Today’s theme was submitted by Jessica at A Cocoon of Books. Books with sensory reading memories (where I was, what time of year it was, who I was with, what I was eating, etc.)

I really thought that I’m not going to remember 10 memories although I know I have an excellent memory. I opened my GR book list and the memories flooded in. I found that I remember the setting for every single book that I read!!!!

1-  Gangsta Granny:

I love my Grandma and I was reading this on a summer day during last summer holiday on a sofa just in front of my Grandma’s house. I also remember tears filling my eyes surprisingly!

 

 

2- Carry On:

It was winter and I was reading this on my to the hospital at the end of the Gyne/ Obs rotations. One of the teaching assistant doctor’s told me to focus more on the Gyne book and I said that I was totally fine. I remember that I hated this book very much but ended up top of class in Gyne rotation!

 

 

3- Wonder

I first went to the local bookstore to ask about this book to read it for a book club I had with my friends and they didn’t have it so I ordered it online and I was reading those on my desk when I was happy by the ending that it was the first time I cried while reading a book!

 

 

4- Percy Jackson Series:

I remember reading this around Christmas when we were moving out to our new house and I used to read as much as I could when we weren’t moving things!

 

 

5- Legend

I found this at the local bookstore and was mesmerized by the cover, imagine how happy I was when I bought it and found out that the ink was even colored for each of the 2 main characters.

 

 

6- When breath Becomes Air

 
I started this while laying on bed one night during a weekend. It was kind of heavy and I continued reading first thing in the morning. This changed me as a medical student.

 

 

7- And then there were none

I bought this from the local bookstore and my cousin was with me. I read this in less than 24 hours so next day this same cousin came to my house for my birthday and asked me if I started it and I was like “You mean did I finish it? because I did” and she was shocked.

 

 

8- Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets

I checked this out of the school library and I read it in a couple of days on a bunk bed I had as a kid. This was me as a young reader and this is the first novel that I binged read and my older didn’t believe that I could have read it that fast.

 

 

9- Bear Town:

I was in a public bus when I was reading this a month ago and I started crying. Good thing is that no one saw me as the bus was not full and I was sitting at a rear seat.

 

 

10- Six of Crows

It was a Sunday and the first day of the surgery rotation, I was reading while waiting for the doctor to come to his clinic and my friend asked to see the cover and he said it was cool. I finished this a few days after that and it restored my faith and love in books by becoming my favorite book of all time!
